Meet Dr. Yaun

Dr. Andrew Yaun, DC, CCSP

Dr. Yaun has worked in the health and fitness industry since 2004, studying Exercise Science, Clinical Physiology from the Fitchburg State College in Massachusetts.  He developed a large interest in kinesiology which led to his career in chiropractic.

In 2007 he became a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).  With the help of NASM’s “corrective phase” he developed advanced programming in balance to enhance motor skills such as athletic movements as well as simple, everyday tasks.

Dr. Yaun provided chiropractic care at a multidisciplinary community clinic as an intern serving under a chiropractic neurologist and nutritionist.  He then interned for a chiropractic sports physician and was trusted to perform diversified adjustive techniques, several soft tissue techniques, and prescription of rehabilitative exercises.

He earned his doctoral degree from the University of Bridgeport, College of Chiropractic.
Here he was taught to utilize the most up to date diagnostic and treatment protocols that reflect the evidence provided within the latest research.  This is known as an evidence-based practice.

Dr. Yaun is a member of the American Chiropractic Association and the Connecticut Chiropractic Association.  He is a senior trainer, athletic coach, and athlete for Crossfit Performance in Fairfield, CT.

Being a sports chiropractor in Fairfield, Dr. Yaun understands what types of pain should and should not be felt with certain exercises.  If there is any question as to whether or not a movement is “good or bad” for an individual, he can dissect the movement, reveal the cause of pain and provide options for alternative movements.

Dr. Yaun enjoys an athletic lifestyle. He ran the 2017 NYC Marathon and was an athlete for Crossfit Performance (where they took 11th place in the 2010 World Crossfit Games).  He also engages in multiple recreational sports and fitness (tennis, wrestling, racquetball, golf, snowboarding, aerobie, etc.).  He enjoys playing the piano at home and currently can be seen on stage with the Worship Team at Black Rock Church in Fairfield.

What our happy patients say

I appreciated the professionalism of Dr. Yaun.  He did not make me wait for hours for my scheduled appointment time.  He did not do other things or see other people while he was meeting with me (in contrast, my physical therapist had 3 other patients at the same time, filled out charts, and texted her daughter).  He always made me feel like I was his only patient and that he was not in a rush.

The first two weeks following my surgery I was back to 80% of my full range of motion. In the months that followed my range of motion improved to 100%, within 9 months my strength was back and then some- I’ve hit training PR’s that are 30lbs heavier than pre-injury. I attribute this progress to Dr. Yaun.

I came to Dr. Yaun almost two years ago with a tight and sore lower back and glute area.  As a crossfitter working out six times a week, I started to experience chronic pain in both areas.  Dr. Yaun helped greatly in relieving the pain, and more importantly setting me up for success in the future by giving me a variety of mobility exercises that would prevent me from ending up back in the same place.
